We celebrated the Breast Cancer Awareness month with a historic Guinness World Record event tagged "#12KLLP". The goal of the 12KLLP was to form the largest human awareness pink ribbon the World has ever seen.
Thousands of people gathered at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere to show support, advocate for better care and learn early detection of breast cancer. The #12KLLP was a great day for the fight against breast cancer in Nigeria and Africa as 7,598 people from the Centre of Excellence: Lagos State gathered to stand against breast cancer! With this number, the current Guinness World Record of 6,847 has been broken and more people are aware of the need for early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
The Light Lagos Pink Campaign 2015 through the #12KLLP has galvanized support for the fight against breast reaching not just the over 7,500 participants but over 8 million Nigerians with the message of breast cancer awareness through numerous health talks on radio and television and in the community!

It has been estimated that in 2012 over 100,000 Nigerians were diagnosed with cancer and 71,000 of those diagnosed died. This high death statistic has given rise to a cancer crisis in Nigeria, which is unacceptable and requires our urgent attention.Sign Petition
